Regulatory and Standard
Requirements for Accessing
Fresh Produce Markets in the
EU countries from January to
February, 2007;

EU-SPF (Small Project
Facilities) Project on
capacity building in
Administering SPS &
Environmental standards
relating to fresh produce
export to European Union from
July 2006 to October 2007 and

Study on the requirements for
entrance of Bangladeshi fresh
horticultural produce to the
upstream markets in the United
Kingdom (BGD/75/21A) funded by
European Commission &
implemented by ITC, Geneva
under Bangladesh Quality
Support Programme (BQSP),
component-2 from November to
December, 2009.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh
Agricultural Research Institute
(BARI) and Hortex Foundation in
collaboration with the
University of Sydney, Australia
implementing the project on
“Improving Nutrition and
Livelihoods through Efficient
Postharvest and Supply Chain
Management of Vegetables in
Bangladesh” from April
2012 to March 2014 funded by the
Department of Foreign Affairs
& Trade (DFAT), formerly
AusAID.
At present, Hortex Foundation is
successfully implementing Supply
Chain Development Component
(SCDC) of National Agricultural
Technology Project (NATP)
activities in twenty upazilas of
Bangladesh with intervention in
farmer-market linkage,
minimizing post harvest loss,
improving capacity building of
different stakeholders &
entrepreneurship development
primarily for domestic market.
This component is being
implemented since October 2008
with the financial support from
the World Bank, IFAD and Govt.
of Bangladesh to improve the
effectiveness of national
agricultural technology system
for more productivity of
agricultural commodities and
farm income to reduce the rural
poverty.
